**Earthkey Modifiers** **What are Earthkey Modifiers?** Earthkey Modifiers are special items that can be added during the creation of an Earthkey to customize and enhance the dungeon. These modifiers are earned randomly by defeating the Earthkey’s boss (Sentinel), with deeper Earthkeys offering better chances for rare and powerful modifiers. Modifiers can be stacked to extend the duration or potency of their effects. Some modifiers impact the dungeon's maze structure, while others affect creature spawning. Additionally, there are 'world buff' modifiers that provide benefits to everyone inside the dungeon. Below are the current available modifiers: ==List of Modifiers== * Lower Maze Walls * No Walls * No Wall Collision * Larger Rooms * Detect Threats * Extra Enemies * Extra Gold * Extra Life * Botched Fountain of Youth =====Lower Maze Walls===== *Earthkey Modifier: Lower Walls 1 *Earthkey Modifier: Lower Walls 2 *Earthkey Modifier: Lower Walls 3 *Earthkey Modifier: Lower Walls 4 *Earthkey Modifier: Lower Walls 5 When a 'Lower Maze Walls' modifier is applied to the creation of an Earthkey, it reduces the height of the inner walls in the randomly generated maze, with the degree of reduction based on the level of the modifier used. By default, the walls in a maze are size 6, but this size increases with the depth of the Earthkey. The maximum wall height is size 9. Below are examples of how wall sizes change with different Earthkey sizes: *Earthkey size:10x10 to 19x20 = Size 6 walls *Earthkey size 20x20 to 29x30 = Size 7 walls *Earthkey size 30x30 to 39x40 = Size 8 walls *Earthkey size 40x40 and up = Size 9 walls ===No Walls=== *Earthkey Modifier: No Walls When a 'No Walls' modifier is applied during the creation of an Earthkey, the dungeon will generate without any walls, leaving the entire layout open. This creates a completely unobstructed environment, allowing for greater mobility and visibility but also removing any natural barriers that could be used for strategic defense or enemy avoidance. ===No Wall Collision=== *Earthkey modifier: No Wall Collision When using a 'No Wall Collision' modifier in the creation of an Earthkey, all inner walls within the dungeon maze will become intangible, allowing players to walk through them as if they don’t exist. While the walls remain visible, they no longer act as physical barriers, offering the benefits of an open layout while maintaining the visual structure of the maze. ===Larger Rooms=== *Earthkey Modifier: Larger Rooms 1 *Earthkey Modifier: Larger Rooms 2 *Earthkey Modifier: Larger Rooms 3 *Earthkey Modifier: Larger Rooms 4 *Earthkey Modifier: Larger Rooms 5 When using a 'Larger Rooms' modifier in the creation of an Earthkey, the size of both the X and Y axes for the dungeon rooms will increase, affecting the overall layout and making rooms more spacious. This modifier adjusts the minimum and maximum size indices of the rooms. Even using a Larger Rooms 1 can have a noticeable impact on the room dimensions, making the dungeon feel less cramped and allowing for easier movement and combat. ===Detect Threats=== *Earthkey Modifier: Detect Threat 1 *World Buff Duration = +5 minutes *Earthkey Modifier: Detect Threat 2 *World Buff Duration = +10 minutes *Earthkey Modifier: Detect Threat 3 *World Buff Duration = +15 minutes *Earthkey Modifier: Detect Threat 4 *World Buff Duration = +20 minutes *Earthkey Modifier: Detect Threat 5 *World Buff Duration = +30 minutes The 'Detect Threat' modifier activates a world buff that provides the player with enhanced awareness of enemies within the dungeon for a set duration. When active, this buff modifies the dungeon map, marking unique icons for important enemies such as Vagabonds and Sentinels. These icons will be visible to all players in the dungeon, making it easier to locate and engage these special threats. The buff duration can be extended if another Detect Threat modifier is already active. ===Extra Enemies=== *Earthkey Modifier: Extra Enemys 5% *Earthkey Modifier: Extra Enemys 10% *Earthkey Modifier: Extra Enemys 15% *Earthkey Modifier: Extra Enemys 20% The 'Extra Enemies' modifier increases the number of enemies that spawn within the dungeon maze by a specified percentage. The additional enemies will not be reflected in the 'Mob Amount' displayed on the Earthkey tooltip. For example, if your dungeon initially has 30 enemies ('Mob Amount') and you use three 'Extra Enemies 20%' modifiers, the total spawn rate will increase by 60%, resulting in a true 'Mob Amount' of 48 enemies, even though the tooltip will still display 30. ===Extra Gold=== *Earthkey Modifier: Extra Gold 5% *Earthkey Modifier: Extra Gold 10% *Earthkey Modifier: Extra Gold 15% *Earthkey Modifier: Extra Gold 20% *Earthkey Modifier: Extra Gold 25% The 'Extra Gold' modifier activates a world buff that increases the amount of gold earned from loot. If the buff is already active, the amount of Extra Gold will be increased. This modifier specifically increases the quantity of sellable items, leading to more gold when these items are sold. However, it does not affect the chances of rare item drops or improve the quality of loot—only the quantity of basic, sellable loot. ===Extra Life=== *Earthkey Modifier: Extra Life +1 *Earthkey Modifier: Extra Life +2 *Earthkey Modifier: Extra Life +3 The 'Extra Life' modifier activates a world buff that grants players additional lives within the dungeon. If the buff is already active, the amount will increase the number of extra lives available. Each Extra Life allows players to avoid being kicked out of the dungeon upon death, enabling an immediate respawn at the dungeon's starting point. A point will be deducted from the Extra Life pool with each use. This buff applies globally, meaning all players in the dungeon benefit from the Extra Life modifier, respawning at the starting point in the same manner. ===Botched Fountain of Youth=== *Earthkey Modifier: Botched Fountain of Youth The 'Botched Fountain of Youth' modifier activates a world buff that grants players instant resurrection upon death. When applied, a random number between 3 and 9 is chosen to determine the pool of available uses for the Fountain of Youth. If the buff is already active, the pool will be increased accordingly. Upon death, players will be immediately resurrected on the spot with full health and stamina, deducting one point from the pool. This effect applies globally, meaning any players in the dungeon who die will also benefit from the Fountain of Youth, reviving at their location with the same benefits.
