Housewarming party Gift ideas other than a bottle of wine?

My friend also changed an apartment recently, and I would like to present her with something long-lasting. I am inclined to a pretty bunch of yellow flowers and perhaps a pretty vase. There were some gift-ready items on abodelook that I saw that would be ideal to this. Their product tends to be a great mix of "comfort and stylishness" which is precisely her style. Do you think a safe gift is yellow or it is too bright to be sitting in the new living room of a person?
